Erika and Kevin met in 2017, and from the very beginning, something just felt right. We connected instantly — bonded by our shared cultures, similar values, and the beautiful journey of being single parents. What started as friendship quickly grew into something deeper, rooted in understanding, strength, and love.In 2020, during a time when the world felt uncertain, we blended our families and quietly said “I do.” Although we weren’t able to celebrate with the ceremony we had imagined, our commitment to each other never needed a stage — it only needed us.Now, six years later, we are beyond excited to celebrate our marriage in Quito, Ecuador — a city that holds a very special place in our hearts. Lo que comenzó como una amistad pronto se convirtió en algo más profundo, basado en la comprensión, la fortaleza y el amor.En 2020, en un momento en el que el mundo se sentía incierto, unimos nuestras familias y, en la intimidad, dijimos: “Sí, acepto”. Aunque no pudimos celebrar con la ceremonia que habíamos imaginado, nuestro compromiso nunca necesitó un escenario; solo nos necesitaba a nosotros.Ahora, seis años después, estamos inmensamente felices de poder celebrar nuestro matrimonio en Quito, Ecuador, una ciudad que ocupa un lugar muy especial en nuestros corazones. Esta celebración es mucho más que un aniversario; es una oportunidad para honrar nuestro camino, nuestras familias y el amor que nos ha traído hasta aquí.¡No podemos esperar para celebrar este momento tan especial junto a ustedes!

Some people become part of your love story not simply by standing beside you, but by helping you build it.

For us, that is Irene and Jimmy.

Irene, my sister and our Matron of Honor, and Jimmy, our Best Man, have been a constant source of love, strength, and support throughout our journey together. They have witnessed our relationship grow, stood beside us through life’s challenges and celebrations, and have always been there to remind us of what truly matters—family, commitment, and each other.

Choosing Irene and Jimmy together was an easy decision. They have supported us not only individually, but as a couple, becoming an important part of the foundation we have built together. Their love, friendship, and unwavering support have meant more to us than words can express.

We are incredibly grateful to have them by our side as we celebrate this next chapter of our story.

Hay personas que se convierten en parte de nuestra historia de amor no solo por estar a nuestro lado, sino también por ayudarnos a construirla.

Para nosotros, esas personas son Irene y Jimmy.

Irene, mi hermana y nuestra Dama de Honor, y Jimmy nuestro Padrino, han sido una fuente constante de amor, fortaleza y apoyo a lo largo de nuestro camino juntos. Some people come into your life through family, and others become family along the way. Patty and Jake are both.

Patty, my cousin and my son’s godmother, holds a very special place in my heart. Over the years, she has become so much more than a cousin—she has become a trusted friend, a confidant, and someone who has always loved and supported us without judgment. Together with Jake, she has been there for us through the beautiful moments, the challenging ones, and everything in between.

Their friendship and support have been a constant reminder of how fortunate we are to have people who truly accept us, believe in us, and celebrate our love. Patty and Jake have become such an important part of our lives and our journey as a couple.

We truly cannot imagine celebrating this day without them by our side. Having them stand with us as we celebrate our marriage means the world to us, and we are so grateful to call them family.

Algunas personas llegan a nuestra vida a través de la familia, y otras se convierten en familia a lo largo del camino. Patty y Jake son ambas cosas para nosotros.

Patty, mi prima y la madrina de mi hijo, ocupa un lugar muy especial en mi corazón. Con el paso de los años, se ha convertido en mucho más que una prima: es una amiga de confianza, una persona con quien puedo contar y alguien que siempre nos ha brindado su amor y apoyo sin juzgarnos. Junto a Jake, ha estado presente en los momentos más felices, en los momentos difíciles y en todo lo que hemos vivido entre ellos.

Su amistad y apoyo constante nos han recordado lo afortunados que somos de tener personas que nos aceptan de corazón, creen en nosotros y celebran nuestro amor. Patty y Jake se han convertido en una parte muy importante de nuestras vidas y de nuestro camino como pareja.

Some friendships take years to build, while others simply feel like they were meant to be. Although our friendship is relatively new, it feels as though we have known each other for years.

Karen has become a dear friend, a confidant, and someone who has taught me the true value of friendship. I deeply value the bond we share and admire her for the hardworking, strong, and inspiring woman she is and everything she represents.

Having Karen by my side on such a meaningful day is incredibly special to me. I am grateful for the friendship we have found in each other and for the beautiful connection that has grown so naturally.

We are honored to have Monica and Junior as our Padrinos de Arras, a special role that holds deep meaning within our Catholic wedding ceremony.

The arras matrimoniales, or wedding coins, symbolize the blessings, prosperity, and responsibilities that we promise to share throughout our marriage. Traditionally, the groom gives the bride 13 coins as a representation of his commitment to provide for and share all that they receive as a married couple. The coins also symbolize Christ at the center of our marriage and God’s blessings over our home and family.

We chose Monica and Junior to share this beautiful tradition with us because we value their love, support as a couple. Having them beside us as we make this sacred promise represents our desire to build our marriage surrounded by people who will encourage us, pray for us, and remind us of the commitment we make before God.

We are so grateful to have them be part of this special moment and to entrust them with such a meaningful role in our Catholic wedding.
Nos sentimos muy honrados de tener a Monica y Junior como nuestros Padrinos de Arras, un papel muy especial que tiene un profundo significado dentro de nuestra ceremonia de matrimonio católico.

Las arras matrimoniales representan las bendiciones, la prosperidad y las responsabilidades que prometemos compartir a lo largo de nuestro matrimonio. Tradicionalmente, el novio entrega a la novia 13 monedas como símbolo de su compromiso de proveer, compartir y construir juntos todo lo que Dios les conceda. Las arras también representan a Cristo como el centro de nuestro matrimonio y las bendiciones de Dios sobre nuestro hogar y nuestra familia.

Elegimos a Monica y Junior para acompañarnos en esta hermosa tradición porque valoramos profundamente su amor, su apoyo y el ejemplo que representan como pareja. Tenerlos a nuestro lado mientras hacemos esta promesa sagrada representa nuestro deseo de construir nuestro matrimonio rodeados de personas que nos apoyen, oren por nosotros y nos recuerden siempre el compromiso que hacemos ante Dios.

We are especially honored to have my cousin Sanny as one of our special readers during our ceremony.

I chose Sanny for this role because I admire the person she is and the values she carries with her. She has a beautiful and personal relationship with God, expressed in her own unique way, and I deeply admire the faith, virtues, and character that she brings into her life.

Having her share a reading during our Catholic wedding is especially meaningful to me because I wanted someone whose words and presence could reflect the importance of faith, love, and God in this new chapter of our marriage.

Sanny is someone I look up to, and it means so much to have her participate in such a sacred and intimate part of our wedding day. I hope that as she shares the Word with us and our loved ones, she also serves as a reminder of the kind of love, faith, and virtues we hope to carry with us throughout our marriage.

Elegí a Sanny para este papel porque admiro profundamente la persona que es y las virtudes que representa. Ella tiene una relación muy especial y personal con Dios, vivida de una manera única y auténtica, y admiro la fe, la fortaleza y el corazón que refleja en su vida.
